ABOUT US

We are two Austrian travel lovers from the creative and writing industry.
For the non-profit project Beyond the Postcard we appear as the social travel collective benetrip.

Projekt-Initiatorin Maria Kapeller

Maria Kapeller
Journalist, copywriter & author

Growing up in the Austria-wide known spa town of Bad Schallerbach, she moved to the world-famous tourist city of Salzburg in 2003. There she studied communication science and still works as a freelance journalist  today. Since then, she has seen a lot of the world, both professionally and privately – which made her rethink her travel behavior. Today, Maria travels by train and bus more slowly, more consciously and ways that are as environmentally friendly as possible. Her non-fiction book “Lovely Planet – travel with your heart and preserve the world” was published in 2022.

Projekt-Initiatorin Edith Frauscher

Edith Frauscher
Creative & brand work, copywriter

Growing up in the unknown neighboring town of the well-known spa town of Bad Schallerbach, she like Maria moved to Salzburg in 2003 to study communication science. After graduating, she found a good work-travel balance: her first job was in a PR agency, then an internship in the Caribbean. She returned as head of marketing and innovation, then took a four-month trip through Southeast Asia. Today, Edith runs the creative agency Hummelhirn , where she offers copywriting and branding work for companies. This can sometimes be done from the other side of the world.

OUR TEAM

Design-Thinking-Expertin Ulrike Bruckenberger

Ulrike Bruckenberger accompanied us in the creative idea-finding process. Ulli is a passionate “design thinker” and expert in usability and user experience. Her experience with innovative projects was an important and valuable pillar of the project from the very beginning.

Künstlerin Andrea Lacher-Bryk

As a freelance painter, caricaturist and biologist, Andrea Lacher-Bryk is a jack of all trades. In her studio with a view of the Untersberg, we worked together on the conception and implementation of the huge postcard. In the end, she painted the perfect Salzburg postcard idyll in watercolor technique.

Illustratorin Sabrina Hassler

Sabrina Hassler is a versatile illustrator and artist. She likes to experiment in her art and loves exchanging ideas with other creative people. This approach was perfect for our project. Her detailed figures and scenes allow us to look beyond the postcard in the work of art.
